Medalist Shows Future of Darts at AMOA

LAS VEGAS, NV – (October 10, 2004) Medalist Marketing President Lee Peppard and Vice President of Sales Christopher Peppard used the occasion of the 2004 AMOA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center to highlight the company’s complete lineup of new generation electronic dartboards and preview plans for the 2005 Medalist event calendar.

Operators visiting the annual extravaganza had the opportunity to see first hand the features and designs responsible for the Medalist line being called the ‘Future of Darts.’ The most versatile line in the industry includes everything from the most economical new board available, the Spectrum ION, to the state of the art Spectrum Avanti Elite, with its 17 inch LCD Flat Screen Monitor and on-line capability.

The on-line downloadable capability is featured on three of the dartboards in the  new line, which also debuts a new on-board digital camera which has proven to be a popular add-on for operators. The digital camera produces additional revenue for the operator by allowing the player to pay to have his or her picture included in the ‘attract mode,’ which appears on the monitor when the board is not in use. The player’s picture is included in the board’s video presentation for seven days after being taken.

Operators visiting the Medalist booth expressed very positive reactions to MedalistDirect, which made its debut at the 2003 AMOA Show. They reported savings in both time and money as a result of the successful new program which allows operators to work directly with the manufacturer.

Operators were also enthusiastic about Medalist’s plans to continue to grow the  annual Medalist World Championships Tournament, which will return to the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from July 27-30, 2005. The 2005 tournament will have a guaranteed payout of $406,460.00, which will make it the biggest single Medalist event payout in the history of darts.

Meetings with Leslie Murphy and Kenny Price of the NDA were termed very  productive.  As a result, Medalist dartboards will be included in NDA’s 2005 Team Dart event.

For information regarding MedalistDirect and/or the Medalist League Program,  contact Christopher Peppard at 253-939-2900, or email: chrisp@medalistgames.com.
